How does Technology Affect Your Children?

Throughout the years the use of technology has rapidly increased. Technology has started to make a huge impact on the behaviour and thought process of children. This is why as a future educator I have decided to research how digital technology affects a child’s psychosocial development. Being able to gain insight into how children perceive situations and how they are able to connect with others is very important for my future career as an educator. Considering that there is no stopping the growth of technology, we must understand how to use it in a positive way as well as understand the negatives. The use of technology could be beneficial for the development of children. Technology brings children together, allowing them to engage in social interactions with their peers and family members. The overuse of technology, however, can be very risky as it can cause negative mental health outcomes such as depression, isolation, etc. As the years go on the use of technology will rapidly increase. In order for us, to be ready for that we must take the time to understand and learn beneficial ways to use technology in the classroom as well as at home.
