The Future of An Educator In The Digital Age

Technology has slowly but surely made its way into our new education curriculums, this means that future educators must be able to integrate it to the best of our abilities. As an educator I will be required to incorporate the use of technology in a positive way, being able to aid the children's learning with the assistance of technology. Many educators make it their mission to design different activities that include aspects for many different children (Shifflet, Toledo & Mattoon, 2012). As an educator who has grown up in a digital society I have a better understanding of the multiple uses of technology and which applications can enhance children’s learning abilities. I will be required to evaluate all the devices that will be used in the classroom for their effectiveness and their benefits to the children (Shifflet, Toledo & Mattoon, 2012). The educators play a huge role in the development of the children. The main responsibility of educators is to make sure that these new devices add to the learning and development of the children (Shifflet, Toledo & Mattoon, 2012). As the future approaches quickly, I must be able to grasp a good understanding of how I should incorporate all this new technology and how I will be able to use it in a positive light. In this society avoiding technology is impossible (Bracken, 2015), so we must do our best to incorporate them. Many educators have mixed reviews about the use of technology in the classroom, however, as the years go on there is no avoiding the integration of technology. Many feel overwhelmed about how they can update and implement activities that will keep children interested (Bracken, 2015). As a future educator I want to be able to defeat the bad stigma of having technology in the classroom.
